Kate Oldfield – managing partner of Davis Blank Furniss – appeared on this evening’s North West Tonight programme discussing one her recent clinical negligence cases.
Kate has worked with Anne Olliver, who lives in Altrincham, for the last few years on a claim against Wythenshawe Hospital after one of its team wrongly took Anne off Warfarin, which a drug that stops blood from clotting. This decision resulted in her having a major Stroke and has changed her life forever.
The Hospital has apologised unreservedly and Kate secured Anne £350,000 compensation which has been used to modify her home and give her financial security for the future.
Anne decided she wanted to share her story to try and make sure something like this never happens again, and to demonstrate that patients can challenge the NHS.
