Equality Act 2010

The Equality Act 2010 is finally here and came into force on 1st October 2010. It builds on existing discrimination legislation but also introduces new provisions, including:

  • Preventing employers from asking pre-employment health questions except in specified circumstances.
  • Pay secrecy clauses will no longer be enforceable
  • New powers given to Employment Tribunals to make recommendations in relation to your workforce as a whole.
