Kate Oldfield - Managing Partner

Biography

Before joining us... Kate studied medicine at college, but then (luckily for us) decided she was better suited to a career in law. She joined David Blank & Co in 1987 and, drawing on her medical training, she became an expert in the field of clinical negligence and personal injury law.

We welcomed her aboard... in 1990 when David Blank & Co merged with Davis Hope Furniss to create Davis Blank Furniss. She became a partner in 1993, and impressed us so much with her “can do” attitude that she was appointed to Managing Partner in 2007.

Her responsibilities... are twofold. As Head of Personal Injury she focuses on catastrophic injury and brain damage cases which frequently involve multi million pound settlements. While, as Managing Partner, she gives her all to driving the firm forward.

She fits in because... she’s totally down to earth and has a no nonsense approach. She’s unfailingly enthusiastic and uncompromising in her approach to client care.

At the end of the day... she goes home to her husband and two young children. A daily run helps relieve the stress. And she still manages to fit in piano lessons and a busy social life.
