Kate Oldfield | Davis Blank Furniss Solicitors
Kate Oldfield

Before joining us… Kate studied medicine at university, but then decided she was better suited to a career in law. She joined David Blank & Co in 1987 and, drawing on her medical training, she became an expert in the field of clinical negligence and personal injury law.

We welcomed her aboard… in 1990 when David Blank & Co merged with Davis Hope Furniss to create Davis Blank Furniss. She became a partner in 1993, and was named managing partner in 2007 – a position she held until 2023.

Her responsibilities… As Head of Personal Injury she focuses on catastrophic injury caused by both tragic accidents and clinical negligence which frequently involve multi million pound settlements. She also works alongside Richard Hamilton, managing partner, on a number of leadership duties including business development, client liaison and marketing.

She fits in because… she’s totally down to earth and has a no nonsense approach. She’s unfailingly enthusiastic and uncompromising in her approach to client care.

At the end of the day… she goes home to her husband. Keeping fit helps relieve the stress. She has a love of travel and a busy social life.
